The Washington Redskins have won a ruling on their REDSKINS trademark, foreclosing a cancellation suit because of the statute of limitations.  This ruling is the result of a suit by seven Native Americans who attempted to cancel the REDSKINS mark because is offensive.

CBS is suing a bar in Rockfort, Australia for the use of the CHEERS
trademark.  CBS wants the bar to cease the use of its current logo,
which CBS claims is confusingly similar to the CHEERS design mark.
China’s trademark filings are on the rise.  China filed 1,444 trademark
applications with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)
last year, which puts the country at eighth in the world for trademark
filings.

There has been a 22% increase in paid brand search marketing in the UK
since Google changed its trademark policy in May according to Hitwise
numbers.

Tiffany has lost a trademark dispute against eBay concerning the sale of counterfeit Tiffany goods and trademark infringement on the auction site.  The district court in the Southern District of New York ruled that eBay was not liable for contributory trademark infringement because it had not continued to allow users to post infringing goods on its site when it had reason to know that the goods were infringing.
